From Parking Space to Living Space

Project Overview

Villanova University would like to enhance its campus along Route 30/Lancaster Avenue and turn the main parking lots into Gothic style residential housing, University-operated student-centric retail, a parking garage and a Performing Arts Center. For the retail space, the plans propose a new University Bookstore, convenience store and Villanova Bistro. The Performing Arts Center would support Villanova Theatre, Student Theatre and related campus programs.

The three to five year project will:

  • Offer on-campus housing for approximately 85% of undergraduate students
  • Decrease traffic to and from campus
  • Significantly reduce student and vehicle presence in Radnor Township neighborhoods
  • Provide a centralized location for the Department of Public Safety in the new parking structure

Villanova University is working closely with Radnor Township throughout the approval process.
